Ex FDN

The Madam is doing a runner

May 9, 2014

What better sign that Bainimarama is going to lose in September than the news that 2006 coup conspirator Nazhat Shameem has lined herself up a job at the taxpayers expense as Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva. How many Ambassadors to the UN does one small nation need? Isn’t New York enough? And we can all be sure that while she’s in Geneva she’ll be working hard to bring herself up to speed on extradition law.

  1. She made millions over the years with the regime. She was paid $3000 per day for various workshop organised by her just to create awareness of the various illegal decrees and her consultancy. This is her way to exist from Fiji to join the daughters later in U.K..
Do Fiji can really afford to have another UN representative when 40% population are living below the poverty line.

  2. Will she be Chief Justice or will that job go to Khaiyum???

Both are exceptional puppeteers. She and Gates are the integral players in the 2006 coup. Aiyaz and Frank were easy to sway. Just stroke their egos a few times and they will roll over like dogs.

Ana will take the immunity deal one day to give up her queen. The princess will escape Naboro.

  3. Prof Narsey says there are clear differences between an elected accountable Minister of Elections holding a political party position, and an unelected and unaccountable Minister. Even more so when the same Minister for Elections is also the source of a totally unreasonable and unpopular Electoral Decree and Constitution, which has been unilaterally imposed on voters, supposedly setting the election rules, but which apparently cannot be applied to:
    Bainimarama’s yet- to-be registered Party,
Bainimarama’s yet- to-be confirmed Party Leader,
Bainimarama’s yet- to-be confirmed Secretary General Khaiyum.

    Remember that:
Khaiyum also appointed his own personal choice of a corrupt and unqualified Supervisor of Elections, Saneem
Both Khaiyum and Bainimarama have yet to make full disclosure of their bank accounts.

  4. The illegal appointment of another illegal ambasador to Geneva should be rejected by the UN community.
Fiji has a UN rep in Brussels, why another in Geneva?
There is even a UN rep in New York, USA.
The new illegal ambasador to Geneva should be arrested before arriving in Switzerland, which is a safe haven for dirty money from dictatorship regimes around the world.
The illegal appointment is highly likely to be a protectorate of Swiss Bank accounts of Fiji coupmakers, and not for the interests of our country.
Our trade with the EU is going down, and yet the illegal regime sees it fit to appoint an extra illegal ambasador, for what?
The illegal ambasador designate has to answer for treason charges here at home for the sacking of Chief Justice Fatiyaki and the illegal appointment of Justice Gates.
Also for the illegal reasoning of the doctrine of necessity, and the illegal extra ordinary power of the President in 2006.
The country needs answers to these acts from people who seem to be slowly getting on the run.

  6. The UN agencies in Fiji should alert their HQ of developments taking place in Fiji regarding Nazhat’s proposed appointment as the third UN ambassador from Fiji.
    There is something fishy here,.
The first sign of a sinking ship,
is when the rats from below the deck begin to swim.
They swim so swift mainly off to Swiss.

  7. This appointment is just another indicator of how hopeless the UN has become under Ban the Moon. It is full of deadbeats. no-hopers and treasonous thieves. It achieves SFA across all its bloated useless agencies.

  8. If an Indian gets an overseas posting it becomes an issue. More Indians should be send on overseas posting. Unlike most i taukei who are now in 95% embassy do nothing. They are a liability and are having nice time overseas.

  9. She is the most educated and qualified candidate for the job – no other indigenous Fijian can match her skills and knowledge – full stop.

  10. Another racist and politically biased post. We will never appreciate the good. Always looking to see things half empty than full.

SVT govt made her DPP. SDL made her a judge.

Mahen chor used to charge poor farmer $3000 for a day attending NFU meetings.

    That’s was fine.

  11. with Nazat leaving is a serious sign of flooding. The ants, animals etc run for higher grounds.

  12. At least she is a better choice than some of the people sent by Rabuka and Qarase that were more tainted then her.

To date, there is no proof of her collaboration with the IG.

  13. Nazhat, with her husband, Aslam Khan, the highly corrupt Vodafone Fiji CEO, will be running to Geneva with no blood on her hands, but lots of legal money in the bank accumulated from illegal contracts and deals she had with Fiji’s military junta. This includes so called legal advice for the coup, writing up illegal decrees, drafting the illegal constitution and drafting judgements on cases, etc. There is much more this coup plotter has done to rob Fiji.

The appointment is made even worse knowing that she will be travelling at the Fiji taxpayers expense.

  14. Nazhat accepting the post reveals the fact that she was well connected to the illegal regime from day one on the coup. Full stop.
Does Fiji really need a UN representative in Swiss?
More then 40 % population are staying below poverty line and the elites are enjoying the taxpayers fund managed by Khayium.
Embassy / Consulate has been opened throughout many countries with only expenditure but no benefits.
Time for payback by the illegal regime for coup supporters.
UN should not allow this appointment by an illegal regime.
UN has failed in it’s responsibilities by allowing soldiers from Fiji for peacekeeping whilst the people suffer in silence.

  15. Dear Sir,

Thank you for allowing us the people to have a voice in matters that affect our lives today and tomorrow. Just a few comments.

    1. Shameem’s move to Geneva is a definite clue to what has been planned by the regime. It has a direct bearing on the results of the election which the regime already knows. It is also critical to the regime and its major actors because they have made this unnecessary and redundant appointment in the midst of the great and widespread economic difficulties we have in Fiji.
    2. Why Geneva. What does Fiji have to do with Geneva that cannot be handled in London, Brussels and New York? It would be most efficient for Fiji to have one of our current ambassadors. Aha! You see, Geneva is the major international safe house of all types of money. Why else would a prominent legal adviser of the Fiji regime be appointed to Geneva? Surely, this is not Fiji Government’s money in the bank vaults in Switzerland. So sad, a case of double injury. They rob the people and deposit them in the Swiss bank and other safe havens. Then the thieves use our taxpayer money to appoint one of them to take care of their loot in Geneva. the rest of the gang continue the scam of an election in Fiji to get the people to vote them into perpetual and unlimited power and control.
    3. The FF party registration also requires a declaration of all their officials’ personal assets. Now, how does that relate to Shameem’s appointment?
    4. Given the vital role Nazhat has been playing for this regime, why would she go to Geneva at this time, especially prior to declaration of assets and the Sept election?
The above are more dots which people can connect with all others. Connecting the dots will help us see the design and plans and the motives and goals of the regime. But one thing is certain. Their plans are not honourable and are bad for the majority of people of Fiji. They will hold onto power until we the people dislodge them.
    5. On the other side of the river, have another read on Prof Narsey’s article. Or the former PM Qarase’s response. These articles reveal great minds, deep and lucid thoughts that probe the problems and issues facing Fiji today. Dr Narsey has been trying to help us understand how unjust and deeply destructive this regime has been. Mr Qarase has again confirmed that. Both people represent the kind of people who have a deep and clear understanding of issues and challenges we face as a nation and the possible solutions we can consider. But the solution to Fiji’s challenges also implies that the sooner this regime goes, the better it will be for Fiji and all our people.

  16. This is daylight robbery of the taxpayers. When will the military wake up to the reality.
All chinese kickback for Khayium is deposited in Swiss bank.
Nazhat will now never return to Fiji.

  17. Editor,
A short time back the foreign ministers of Australia and New Zealand – Bishop and McCully – told us they were very impressed with the progress the Bainimarama military government in Fiji has made to hold elections and return the country to democracy.
The latest news from Fiji is that the Attorney-General and Minister for Elections Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum is also the secretary-general of the coup leader cum self-appointed PM Frank Bainimarama’s Fiji First Party.
Despite the call by the democratic opposition in Fiji for Mr Khaiyum to resign he insists there is no conflict of interest.
Is this the sort of progress the foreign ministers found impressive?
Is this how the country will be returning to democracy?
Is this the way to hold a free and fair election?
What kind of democracy is Fiji likely to have post elections?
    sincerely,
    Rajend Naidu

  18. All political parties should get together and organise a march.Mick please organise this march. Khayium must resign as he has conflict of interest being the secretary of FF and illegal A.G.
Mick time for action. A petition has to be presented to the President..

  19. Khaiyum, arrogantly refuse to release the Auditor General Reports, showing their utter contempt for the basic principle of accountability of all Ministers (including the Minister for Elections) to tax-payers for the last eight years (two normal terms of government), and also suggesting this government has a lot to hide.”

  20. How come these people with so much liquid envy in their bodies instead of blood remain alive?

Perhaps they are slowly dying and that’s why the only thing their bodies can still manage to do is tap a keyboard.

  21. @Anon 5.00pm. You seem sound so arrogant and absolutely indifferent to what is taking place in Fiji. People are speaking out through the blogs because the regime has taken away our rights and freedoms. They speak because they feel and care about their future and the future of their country. How about you? What do you stand for? What do you care about? Or are you a dead man walking? Please think about what people are saying. You cannot just stand there and shrug people off like that. To be human is to feel and care about people and others apart from yourself. What a shame we have people like you in Fiji.

  23. 8 years of illegal rule is enough for the people. Time for a change. Give chance to other people. When people stay in power for too long it simply means they are power hungry and the money that comes with it!
This is typical of Khayium and party.
Where else they will get a “job” like this!
The money is too good for them to give opportunity to others!

  24. Ministers for Elections, and Party Officials.
Letter to Editor (The Fiji Times, Fiji Sun, Island Business, Republika) (9 May 2014)
    Professor Wadan Narsey

    Dear Sir,

According to news reports Mr Aiyaz Khaiyum is reported to be justifying his remaining as Minister for Elections while also being General Secretary to the proposed Fiji First Party by claiming that Rabuka in 1999 and Qarase in 2001 and 2006 were also in a similar position.

While it might raise some eyebrows a teensy weensy bit to see Khaiyum justifying his behaviour today by referring to similar behaviour by previously maligned “old politicians”, there are some profound differences, other than age and maturity.

Rabuka and Qarase were lawfully elected Members of Parliament, Ministers and Prime Ministers while Khaiyum holds all his ministerial positions courtesy of Rear Admiral Bainimarama’s illegal military coup and an unelected government.

Rabuka’s and Qarase’s governments annually published all the Auditor General Reports on their respective governments’ revenue collection, expenditure and public debt borrowing, thereby showing their willingness to be accountable to the voters (and taxpayers) of Fiji.

In contrast, Bainimarama and Khaiyum, arrogantly refuse to release the Auditor General Reports, showing their utter contempt for the basic principle of accountability of all Ministers (including the Minister for Elections) to tax-payers for the last eight years (two normal terms of government), and also suggesting to voters with any active brain cells, that this government has a lot to hide.

There is therefore a mountain of difference between an elected accountable Minister of Elections holding a political party position, and an unelected and unaccountable Minister such as Mr Khaiyum.

Even more so when the same Minister for Elections (Khaiyum) is also the source of a totally unreasonable and unpopular Electoral Decree and Constitution, which has been unilaterally imposed on the voters of Fiji, supposedly setting the election rules, but which apparently cannot be applied to Bainimarama’s yet- to-be-registered Party, its yet-to-be-confirmed Party Leader, and yet-to-be-confirmed Secretary General Khaiyum. Khaiyum also has appointed his own personal choice of Supervisor of Elections who does not have the slightest chance of being called “old” anything.

This is like the manager of a street fighter insisting on being the referee of a boxing match with the opponents having to follow all the Queensberry rules set by the manager himself, with the rules not applying to his own street fighter.

Or perhaps a more colourful analogy splashed with lots of red, this situation is comparable to a smooth and suave Count Dracula insisting on being the General Manager of the Blood Bank.

  25. I have an advise for i taukei. I suggest that instead of you all complaining on the blog about Khayium go and get your community united first. i taukei is the majority in this country so what is their to complain about.
Then you all decide whom to vote for a better Fiji.

    .

  26. It really surprises me that Wadan keeps sniping at our great leaders and their impeccable rules for the confirmation of their rule in the next elections. Not only does he distort the truth in the most pernicious and insidious way, he also ignores the serious warnings we have issued to him. This is really my last attempt to bring him out of the darkness of opposition into the sun that shines brightly around the Honourable Khaiyum and his friends from the RFMF. We are ready to give you a handsome share of the money we make from milking the taxpayers, but please stop smearing our beloved leaders.

  27. @Tomasi 6:26 PM

Fortunately there are many in Fiji who can see through the comments on blogs and elsewhere that have no substance to support them and are so obviously based on hate, rumour and jealousy.

You refer to this as arrogance and an uncaring attitude but you can be assured that life goes on as it is in Fiji because so many understand this.

  28. The Shameemi Sisters need to be held to account for the parts they played in the Biggest Lie of the last Decade.

The clean out campaign of the Cassava Patch Sprinter and his greedy Monkey need to be recorded and once the new government is back in power, it will be the part of their mandate to investigate and prosecute these criminals for their treason and corruption of our nation.

Sadly, I do not think that Fiji will be able to recover the money that they have stolen – they will have already hidden it overseas and left it to their miscreant relatives to squander in their names.

  29. it is quite clear now that to become a Prime Minister one has to aim to becoming the head of the Army or even second or third in command. All you have to do is stage a coup in the name of protecting the country, change the constitution to enshrine immunity, torture people to frighten the shit out of them so they don’t retaliate, distribute money and do some roads etc, form a party and run for election to legitimise yourself. All these democratic bullshit, good governance, transparency, accountability etc does not matter. The international community will eventually accept you after initial rejection.People have no choice anymore the people with guns have all the power.

Frank just to save himself did all these just to save himself from jail otherwise the CRW were going to meet him in jail. Frank was the guy the Speight was waiting to show up after he took over parliament. He pulled out when he found out there was no support from people. So he went against the CRW and jailed the, THAT IS WHY THERE WAS A MUTINY because the CRW soldiers were let down. In effect Frank liumuiri them. All that has now put the country in so much shit that it is hard to even come back and have a democracy. So Frank knows what he has done. The others who joined in are not to be blamed but they were all opportunists.

  30. Why do we refer to the “Constitution” when what we have is at best, the
“BK Charter”, no way a Peoples Charter, much less a Constitution.

So People , be honest, the King has no clothes.

  31. Chi chi Tomasi. You sound like you know everything. Where did you school? Must be Oxford. Because you very clever know it all person. You must have done a very thorough job evaluating the case. Wow! You also know what they do in Fiji Missions and in Geneva.Man Tomasi you clever man.You also good in dot connect. Wow.

  32. Nabua Prick

That advise is good only for the likes of you; those who thrive in sucking Bai’s balls.

If the process is flawed so will be the result

  33. READ IT RATU SHE IDIOT!!!

You’re just full of complaints and nonsense.

You not tired of being proven wrong so many times.

OK ………..You once mentioned that there will be no Elections. Now from the above one can deduce that you are admitting that you were wrong.

Now you are saying the Elections process is flawed.

For goodness sakes …………………… let me put it very clearly to you once again – you idiot:

There are so many observers watching and evaluating every process. There are many experts from overseas countries involved. There are so many countries funding it and contributing also in kind. Everyone wants to ensure that the process will be fair and in accordance with international and acceptable standards. No one wants it tainted as alot depends on its successful completion.

And here you are Ratu She idiot saying otherwise.

You OK??? Hello …………. look at me boy when I speak to you!!!

    Hehehehehehe …………………… you idiot.

  34. Seems that every time ratu sigh gets up he’s stepped on again, can he not do better?

  35. Very true @Joejoe. So sad. A factual reflection on the state of the Fijian nation. God help us.

  36. Remarkable things here. I’m very glad to look your post. Thank you so much and I’m
looking forward to touch you. Will you kindly drop me
    a mail?

  37. Good way of describing, and good piece of writing to obtain data concerning my
presentation subject matter, which i am going to convey in institution of higher education.
