Comments and possible restrictions. Bomb making comments not allowed.

Recently both FijiToday and Coup 4.5 had comments pointing to a bomb making website.

There are currently three IP addresses whose comments are held for moderation before posting. One for constant repetition, one for pointless abuse and one for agitating for an armed resistance. This third contributor  tried to post the bomb making information that was held and deleted and never visible on the site

I intend to continue to let all except the three above to be posted but if pointless or obscene  I will delete them when I next enter the site.

I would like the site to concentrate on the way forward in Fiji and trying to keep the present administration on the path to free and fair elections.

PS……. I am disappointed that Coup 4.5 has not removed their bomb making comment.

  1. Peter, As we both know, there’s no totally “good” or “bad” side in Fiji. My support for the Bainimarama government is qualified as is your opposition. Coup4.5 used to publish reasoned opposition but now seems to focus on character assassination and accept comments it would once have rejected advocating violence, including assassination.

Our blogs are dedicated to helping Fiji move on to a fairer society and a fair election. We both recognize there’s a lot of hurt reflected in Coup4.5, and while we must sympathise with at least some of the hurt, we must both urge our readers, and readers of Coup4.5, to put pressure on the Coup4.5 publishers to return to its earlier high standards.

All three blogs should be doing as you have said you will be doing wth your blog: “I would like the site to concentrate on the way forward in Fiji and trying to keep the present administration on the path to free and fair elections.” My blog will do this, while also putting pressure on other parties that, along with government, hold the future of Fiji in their hands.

  2. I don’t know who peter is but he is clearly a thoughtful and sensible bloke. let’s stick to a reasoned debate and airing of views that will help fiji back on the democratic track through peaceful, non-violent means. let us not become a caricature of the very thing we find abhorent about the military regime in fiji.

  3. coup 4.5 is a joke. Character assasination and self idolation seem to be their modus operandi

  4. Congratulations coup 4.5 for keeping the pressjure on the human rights abusing regime and its facist handful of pathetic supporters. It must be wonderful to know you have the UK, US, EU, Aust, NZ and other free nations on your side against this only dictatorship in the Pacific. Well done.

  5. I’m not that much of a online reader to be honest but your blogs
really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back later.
    Many thanks
