  1. But really who gives a flying pheck about their provisions? Their constitution has won no one over because we all see it for what it really is — the naked lust for power and prestige. The giveaway is their acknowledgemebt that they have committed treason and are an illegal regime because they want taxpayers to accept that they will have absolute immunity for all the wrongs they have wrought on the nation. The carrot that the regime dangles particularly for the Kai Viti voters as a trade-off is native land protection but even that is breathtakingly tokenistic. Who decides what ‘public purpose’ means should the State want easy access to native or freehold land?

Reject their draft because the 1997 Constitution lives. The puppet President can assent to whatever he damned well likes but their sham constitution does not have the overwhelming public support that their inglorious revolution needs.

  2. Illegal assent by the illegal president to an illegal constitution makes the process legally null and void. We are taken for a ride going around in circles and being distracted from the real and main issue of the regime’s sinister motives. Who will save Fiji when we have armed people holding us hostage to their devious objectives. No country of real power is willing to step in to intervene on behalf of the people who are left to their own devices and hopes for anything to restore freedom from the steel clutches of military dictatorship. Now they impose their selfserving constitution giving lollies in exchange for immunity. This is a sure sign of guilt and know full well they have committed a crime and the coup was wrong and illegal. Otherwise why ask for immunity if they know as they always contend that their coup was rightful and justifiable. This is just their get out of jail exit plan which should be rejected.

  3. forever round and round in bigger circles.
u kaivitis have been fooled once again. your lands is always a central issue. get used to it. u live in hope that any government will be sympathetic to you and not deprive you. this constitution deprives u of your right to determine the destiny of your lands and hence your destiny. it gives you ownership which u already have…83%. it is not giving you anything new. u already have it. what it does not give you is your say in how your lands are to be used. the considerations of the state overrides yours now…cos the state at the end of the day decides whats best for you and the state…and if you don’t like it too bad cos u cannot challenge it in court. land bank decree is already in motion. u supply the bank with ur lands but u will never own the bank…the government owns the bank and your lands…this has been the law since the abrogation of the 1997 constitution and the law onwards for ever and ever under this constitution.

  4. The law

Wilika mada na 2013 Constitution qai vosa, sona levu. Our land is well protected. You are one of those wanna be chief boi cici who thinks from the arse at same time trie to Vesu mona your uneducated kaivatas.

  5. Remember this Rat u fala is an illegal president. He is just a regime stooge who is prepared to rubber stamp anything put before him by his political masters so long as he can enjoy his well accustomed privileges.

  6. At the end of the day, constitutional legitimacy only comes about when it is of the people, by the people and for the people. The will of the people must be supreme in the formulation of the constitution. Their interests must be protected and their free, open and fair participation in the making of the constitution is neccessary for its legitimacy. This has not been the case and the criminals of Fiji who are trying to force their shambolic constitution down the peoples’ throat already know that they wont get far with this. It will be difficult trying to convince Fiji citizens about the legitimacy of this whole constitutional meandering let alone gain support from international community about this whole circus!

  7. The law. That is a good point you make. This need to be sent to the newspapers as a letter to editor for publication.

    Aman

  8. The text is meaningless. This regime has no mandate to change or impose anything on the people of Fiji whateverr their claimed intentions or motives. We can expect this constitution will be treated with he same lack of respect as all the previous ones. It deservves no respect given the determination of the military to entrench their cronies, appointees and interests. At the first opportunity if will also be usurped
