The military stressed that the law will take its course if a member or delegate of the Methodist Church of Fiji conference engages in any unlawful activities.

Military spokesperson, Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni said the RFMF has been reliably informed that there are elements within the church that have been planning on utilizing the mass that will congregate during the church meeting to instigate instability.

He said the RFMF has met with the church executives at QEB to make it clear that the military will not tolerate any actions that may deviate from the agreed agenda.

Lt Colonel Leweni also revealed that the RFMF has been monitoring the movements of key figures in the church, meetings conducted and information being disseminated.

He also said the church Secretary has been told that the government’s intention is to cancel the meeting should the church deviate from the original agenda.

Lt Colonel Leweni said the RFMF will continue to scrutinize the activities of the Methodist Church to ensure that it focuses on its rightful role of developing the spiritual foundation of its members and not to engage in politics.

Methodist Church Assistant Secretary, Reverend Tevita Nawadra said no political issues will be discussed in the conference.

The church conference will be held at the Centennary Church in Suva from August 23rd to 25th.

  1. There are many problems with Komanda Khaiyum’s Fiji military, including dimwitted hand puppet leadership, but the biggest problem seems to be that these morons simply having nothing to do?
Any future new peacekeeping duties are obviously out of the question, as even the UN is not that stupid. Why not allocate 10-12 to each hard working indo-Fijian sugar farmer as labourers and rubbish removers?

  2. The government is fully prepared to meet the church members head on, should there be anything funny or naughty up their sleeves.

You come, attend the meetings, work for the betterment of your members to uplift their living standards and you go back home.

Anything funny, your members will be taught a lesson like those at the Kalabu Fijian School in 2000 under Te Mara’s leadership of the military.

  3. Tuiloma
    drau vicai ului.
you’re really brave when u hav a gun and the other side doesnt eh?

    God Bless you all!

  5. Methodist Church be careful there are FMF intel officers inside the church who are informers kick them out details coming

  6. The methodist church must use its 300000 people power to march and arrest the gang of thugs and its tin pot dictator and put on trial for their crimes and save the nation.

  7. This has gone too far, this coward gang of thugs who have hijacked fiji Government and call themselves Government are abusing all relegions for PER Permit for more than 10 people.

What are the cowards afraid of?

They lamu of the people power where the 800000 people will march and do citizen arrest and put them on trial for their crimes and save fiji from their corruption and freedom to the people.

The people are 800000 and this junta of thugs are one dozen thugs.

Fiji needs people power and not people charter, a people revolution by methodist church, unions, NGO’s , women, churchs, workers, FNPF pensioners and SDL and labor suppertors is must to do citizen arrest of these thugs.

Cowards cos they remove the PER in one month they will be arrested and stand trial for their crimes.

  8. These cowards, a gang of thugs are afraid that the people will overthrow if they assemble in large numbers this is their final destiny the methodists will do this or the oppressed people will do this these cowards cant keep PER forever remove PER then see the people power.

People charter is a sham and lie people need to claim their god given people power.

    Who elected these thugs?

  9. The whole thing is a strategy aimed at control and to ensure my government is on top of any attempt to destabilise the country.

  10. The cowards were the methodists church executives and the talatalas who in 1987 made the ordinary fijians believe that the coup by Rabuka was god sent

    hahhahahahha

    wht they crying now

    hahahhahah

  11. The illegal regime thugs and criminals would take Jesus down to the barracks and torture him if they had a chance. They bring shame to Fiji, their families for now and generations to come

  12. Actually its worse for the Hindus. Read C4.5 story on Hindus having to seek permission
from neighbouring Churches to hold prayer meetings and religious festivals.
Yet another human rights violation by the security forces.

  13. @Anon

You got it wrong, its not only Hindus but any religious meetings. I dn’t have the time to be correcting misconceptions so you people should understand the law and make sure you got it right.

  14. So Ratu Voreqe are you telling me that even the Muslims and the Churches need permission
to hold prayer meetings/sessions on Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays? And they don’t have cars lined up outside? They don’t use loudspeakers?

Can you tell your Taliban AG that the mosque’s must now have permission from the Police and the local Church padre before they can call people to prayer at 5am each morning on their loudspeakers???

As for our laws, they guarantee us religious freedom – at least, the last time I checked the laws of our land, they did!

  15. Rt voreqe, you are right, you are the boss, nanuma mo tatakubi matua sara mo kakua ni lutu. The time has come for you and Khayum, time will reveal it. Remember the Lord will wipe all tears of the oppressed.Ko ira sa liu era na muri.

  16. hey the military knows what to do, why worry, it has done it already and will do it again, cmon methodist do it fire boys raica mada na veimataqali cici vakanadaku
