Fiji opposition leader responds to ‘liar’ claims

Suva-September 25: 9pm (RNZI): The leader of Fiji’s Sodelpa party Ro Teimumu Kepa says there is no substantive evidence to back up the Prime Minister’s claim the opposition is a group of liars.

Frank Bainimarama says being in parliament will be no big deal and it would mean meeting up with the same group of liars he met on the campaign trail.

Ro Teimumu, who is to lead the opposition in parliament, says there have been similar labels in the past which have not been established in the courts and it is time to stop branding people.

“You know hopefully, he will get on with the business of governing the country and remove himself from the … what we call in Fiji … verandah kind of language and see that his role as Prime Minister is one that they look up to and they see him as an example to the people in the country.”

Ro Teimumu says all the Prime Minister has to do is take the matter to the police and it will be taken on from there.

  1. The world knows who is the actual liar here. No need to clarify that. Since 2006 there has been a trail of lies, deception and coverups and we all know whose finger prints are they. Its so humorous that we now have the chief liar as PM. What a circus!

  2. Through lying and hiding the truths the liar managed to steal the election. We need not go through the litany of blatant and clearly obvious lies the liar has been lying since 2006

  3. Yes gentlemen. His blatant lying habit speaks volumes of his unstable mind and his character. What a man to lead Fiji during such a difficult time in our history as this. It is also significant to note how effectively many people have been duped. But we have gone through this before. What a shame for our nation. What a challenge for those who stand for righteousness, truth, justice and freedom. He is both a curse and blessing to our nation. Fiji can only become better after this dancing with the devil, if people learn never to be duped again. A leopard will never lose its spots.

  4. @dredd

Methinks you are a liar youself when you say FB stole the election. He won fair and square, a view endorsed by outside observers.

  5. let the DEVIL the father of the liar plays and where he is leading us to? the truth will come out very and very soon!! We are serving one BIG GOD who can see everything and knows well our hearts. The devil is already the Big looser what else the main boys trying to do? ” Got you already “

  6. Yes Tomasi – The stockholme syndrome that you mentioned in your posts has made people willingly accept the lies of the liar! To depend on liars for one’s sustainance and to accept the lies that he utters as a way of life is a very depressing situation that one can imagine. And that you will already know is where Fiji is right now! Put simply – the liar knows that he is lying…..the people know he is lying….and the liar together with the people accept that it is fine and they should hold hands together and move their land forward. Furthermore they turn to heaven without admitting and confessing their lies to one another and ask for blessing upon them and their land. Now how awkward is that ………I know where that journey is heading!

  7. Yes Kainoqu. Very sad indeed. Someone mentioned that he/she hangs his head in shame when Voreqe in interviewed in TV. Normally, people are so proud of our PM as he is am excellent model and representative of our nation. But here we are with someone like Voreqe. His language and attitude is well below local acceptable norms, forget about the international benchmarks. What a shame indeed. Where are we heading? That question will continue to challenge our patience.
