Monday, 25/08/2014

The Fiji Police Force is currently looking at alleged police brutality cases dated six years back that have been closed.

This follows questions raised by Fijivillage on what police are doing in relation to other alleged brutality cases.

Police Commissioner, Ben Groenewald said they will only reopen these cases if there is concrete evidence.

However, Groenewald said he does not have the exact number of cases that they are looking at.

Groenewald said he is assuring the people of Fiji that they will investigate all reports.

According to the Police Commissioner, he has spoken to police in all divisions and has warned them not to take the law into their own hands.

  1. We must do a protest march to claim justice for Soko and all the citizens of the country. Say no to regime brutality. These police bastards should be ashamed of themselves.

  2. The useless cowardly military has rooted its own nation. It is the military regime under the treasonous military leadership that has militarised the police. Commissioner ‘yes man’ has a very short time frame to sort these militarised dogs out.

  3. Of all the places on earth, why did this dictatorship fly all the way to South Africa to get our Chief Guard Dog? But we already know the answer to that and each time COPOL speaks, our suspicions are being confirmed. Someone better conduct a thorough investigation on this Groenewald person. We expected him to take action rather that simply barking instructions and orders and getting the Fiji Sun and our lame media outfit to record and publicise his episodes. We don’t care about how many briefings and reports he reads or writes. We want action and results. The same applies to this police spokesman with twinkle eyes. We have seen more than enough of his white teeth and pips on his shoulders. He has been lying to the people for some time now. We need action on the torturers.
