Police to investigate brutality cases over the past six years
The Fiji Police Force is currently looking at alleged police brutality cases dated six years back that have been closed.
This follows questions raised by Fijivillage on what police are doing in relation to other alleged brutality cases.
Police Commissioner, Ben Groenewald said they will only reopen these cases if there is concrete evidence.
However, Groenewald said he does not have the exact number of cases that they are looking at.
Groenewald said he is assuring the people of Fiji that they will investigate all reports.
According to the Police Commissioner, he has spoken to police in all divisions and has warned them not to take the law into their own hands.
