Bainimarama’s 13 year plan for agriculture

August 5, 2014

FDN got it wrong about whether Seruiratu would get FijiFirst nomination but we did not get it wrong pointing out his admission that agricultural output has more than halved as a proportion of national income under the Bainimarama regime.  So what does Baini do? he promises a 5 year plan!  So what needs if we add the 8 years he’s already had is a 13 year plan.  Apparently his plan “incorporates hard-learned lessons from other developing countries around the world”.  What we want to know is what lessons he learned from the disaster of agriculture in Fiji under his rule.  Agriculture’s share of production has been more than halved. It’s not only sugar – it’s copra, rice, cocoa, beef, goats, fish and ginger.  Production of all of these have dropped under Bainimarama.  This was admitted by his own Minister.

  1. You Fijian Chiefs, The foundation of being a Fijian or I Taukei, is identifiable by the Tradition and cultural make up that make us all unique from the other ethnicities around the globe. Our tradition and cultures are not politically motivated and should never be. It is a stand alone character in the life of the nation of our beloved country. We are recognised by those qualities and unified under the banner of being I Taukei in the sense that we recognise and uphold everyone elses’ traditions from every parts of Fiji.

Tradition, Religion and Politics should not amalgamate and try find an even keel whereby the three can accommodate one another. That will never happen due to the fact that the three have different usage, applications and yield different outcome. Politic is much more that the other two put together yet politic can accommodate the other two for as long as the other two do not compromise the purpose of Politics.

The GCC should be respected and not abrogated, as they serve a purpose for the I Taukeis’ existence. Collectively GCC can raise concerns re the I Taukei issues via dialog with the government of the day..

GCC should not be governmentally funded as most provinces have their own provincial money making mechanisms. Bainimarama is a control freak and lack the mental capacity to open his mind and look at the wider picture of the importance of having certain council. He is driven to control Fiji and her people and will continue to do so for as long as he is in power.

These dumb Chiefs should not be inviting or accepting him in their villages, provinces etc. He will continue to dangle carrots in front of these Chiefs winning their hearts in the slimy sneaky way Bainimarama does.

  2. @ Sau

    Waste time shit comments!

Maybe your chief is dumb. My iTaukei’s chief is more intelligent and enlightened than you!

  3. Sau,

Go get an education first before making a comment, you imbecile. I am with the Chiefs on this issues you numbskull..
