Former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase

“We are aiming to win at least 26 seats in Parliament if we get 52 percent of the total votes cast in the 17th September general election.”

That was revealed by the former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase to more than 60 people at a political party campaign by the Social Democratic Liberal Party in Nadera.

Qarase told the supporters that it is important that SODELPA wins the 52 percent of the votes, not only from the I‑Taukei but also from the non‑itaukei voters because the party can lead the country.

He said SODELPA can then invite other parties for a coalition.

Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase who is ineligible to contest the September election says the people’s choice is paramount in this upcoming election.

Qarase is now actively campaigning for SODELPA and is appearing in a number of campaign meetings.

Meanwhile SODELPA leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa has already said that they will form a coalition with Fiji Labour party and other political parties.

  1. I could not agree more with Qarase. However, what it means is that all itaukei vote for sodelpa as indo fijians will not be attracted to the part.

The itaukei crowd at FF party yesterday and at earlier rallies makes me conclude that Sodelpa will only get 10-12 seats.

  2. I think that amount is even too much, they might get 1 or 2 if they will win any at all.People of Fiji understands full well that this are the very same people who had done nothing for them when in parliament.he in fact stole from them through fijian holdings and its a shame he is speaking for Sodelpa,When it comes to lies….! Qarase is well known and I doubt he is doing any favors for Temumu and her band of thief’s

  3. The more you hear of what these SODELPA campaigners say the more you have to laugh.

“” “We are aiming to win at least 26 seats in Parliament if we get 52 percent of the total votes cast in the 17th September general election.” ””

  4. Just look at yourself , a thief ., conman and now preaching about the truth . LQ not ashamed of stealing from his own race . Sa macawa Mai na Bula qai sa lala na taga. , e na basika ga Mai na lasu . Sodomy party won’t even get a seat . Shame on Ro Teimumu – Rewa was mourning the passing away the Vunivalu s wife but she was crying in Tavuki . Levu ga ni macawa kei na con .

  5. @pene, dels, anon, anon
compare 6years of SDL governance against 8years of Bainimarama-Khaiyum rule.
    the facts are public news.

SDL had a lot of opposition from all corners but performed really well.
Bainimarama & Khaiyum with backing of brutal RFMF tortured all/any opponents. Despite no opposition the performance of the economy can not be felt @grassroots level.

Now the RFMF and Bainimarama-Khaiyum are portraying themselves out as good citizens standing up for a cause and expecting our votes.

    NO THANK YOU.

  6. Bodyguard ulukau have you seen the growth in which Fiji has achived, It has surpassed Australia and NZ on 3.8% growth and it is something to cherish about. In the 6 years or so with SDL it did not go past 2.5% so this is why votes should go FF s way

  7. “” compare 6years of SDL governance against 8years of Bainimarama-Khaiyum rule.

Oh dear bodyguard, you need to take those blinkers off.

No coup for 8 years, now there’s a massive saving !

No inefficiency and lack of progress caused by parliament simply being a place to grandstand and bitch by a group not living in the real world !

And perhaps you have not noticed that while the world has been going through a recession during these years ALL grassroots people in ALL countries have been feeling the pinch !

    Think outside the box.

  8. Pene, Dels, Anons, et al. Your observations and analysis appear very shallow, distorted, warped and false, based on established facts and statistics. That kind of view belongs squarely around the market stands, where grog dopy people congregrate to have a bowl and get some psychological relief. Let me put it very simply for you.

You cannot compare Qarase and Voreqe because the former legal PM is properly elected and qualified to serve the people of Fiji. He did well, to the extent that he was re-elected for a second term. Voreqe is a poorly educated coward, an arrogant selfish fool and a torturing murderous abusive sailor who was took the Government by force to save himself from prosecution and a life term in gaol.

Just forget about the economics and look at the right and wrong of the matter. That is where all our analysis should begin. Is it right or wrong ? If you guys are not aware of the truths behind Bai and Aiyaz and Shameem and Gates and the lies and torture and murder and robbery and fraud of Voreqe and his illegal regime, then please take the time to read and seek the truth. But should you already know the whole truth and yet choose to support what is fundamentally a series of gross violations and wrongful actions against individuals, communities, families, the Government and the whole nation, then let God judge you. Supporting Voreqe and his party is tantamount to saying, “It is ok to murder, rob, steal, lie, and change the laws and the constitution, because I do not want to go to gaol. ”

You see with that kind of philosophy, you have the recipe of absolute and endless disaster. I pray that you and your group of supporters will see the light. Hear the advice the wise:

Righteousness exalts a nation, and sin is a reproach to any people” When you entertain wrong and injustice, you reap disaster. The Bible calls this disaster the whirlwind. Is that what you people want? To conclude, when you support Bai, you are supporting a great wrong. You are sowing disaster. You are defying God’s moral laws. Now let me ask you this: Are you prepared for the whirlwind that is surely coming? May God help us all.

  9. Everyone should take their blinkers off and see things as they truly are. One government operated within the law while one operated as a law onto themselves.

  10. He was sending containers of stuff when he was in power , agriculture scams were invented by him racist arse , he is half Tongan isn’t he , only pure Fijian blood in Viti Levu correct. So now he wants Indian vote . He was the biggest theif in power People are so naive . Short term memory loose. Every politician stole from the tax payers of this country. You tell people you are not equal , you right 5 fingers are not the same . But your brain is shorter than you think. You think the major race who is paying taxes of this country are not equal citizens . Fuck u. They are the ones paying the billion dollar revenue that the natives want . Kana loto every day. Yeah free chow from the government paid by commercial operators the other races. What a bunch of hypocrites . Everything has to be one sided. Our land our soil our vanua our mother. Yeah you not even looking after your mother land ..too much vucesa. Kana moce , kerekere, wait for government grants. Even now micro loans , taken not paid , what business kaiviti cannot do business , all short term pleasure. Look at FNPF , withdrawn all …finish . Back to basics wait for government grants. That’s why you want to control power of the money in the big house. It’s all about your getting free money. Fucken lazy shit.stop depending on taxpayers of this country and get up your arse and start working .
