PM to register party on April 22

The proposed political party led by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will registered on April 22 with the Registrar of Political Parties.
This was revealed last night during Bainimarama’s tour of the Lau Group.
FBC News reporter Apisalome Coka is in Lau and filed this report:
“Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has confirmed to the people to Vanuavatu that he will register his party on the 22nd of April.
Bainimarama says he will then launch his party in May.
The Prime Minister made the statements villagers asked him how elections will be carried out.
He explained that five parties will compete in the general elections, then there will be two hundred and fifty names and photos to on the ballot paper.
He also revealed the President will issue a directive sixty days before elections to stop all registration of voters.
Two weeks before elections, there will be no campaign.
The people here on Vanuavatu have revealed to the Prime Minister they will support him during the general elections following a decision taken at a village meeting.”
