AG Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says some staff have lost their employment at the Elections Office

Several staff from the Elections Office was dismissed from their posts recently.
Minister for Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirms they have been terminated after discrepancies were discovered at the Elections Office.
_”There have been couple of people who did not follow certain processes and procedures that have been set out and clearly the Elections Office will need to ensure that proper processes are adhered to in that office. There were some discrepancies that were discovered and appropriate action was taken.
Asked whether staff were sacked, Sayed-Khaiyum said certain contracts have been terminated.

When staff fail to safeguard confidentiality and prevailed information, they should be sacked. One can wonder how come all these confidential news make it’s way to various Blogs. People should make a choice: they want to serve the civil service or Blogs???????
Secrecy is the golden rule for this regime…keep everything under wraps…after all information (knowledge) is power. So much for transparency, one of the main reasons behind the coup.
You cross Khaiyum you go. People should have learnt this simple lesson. If he can sack a RFMF senior officer and minister, he surely can sack a leaking clerk in his office. Khaiyum needs to keep the election office tightly in line if he wants to win the election. So no surprise here.

The usual approach to restructures is that you have an organisational problem, you then have a plan and only then do you consider whether a restructure is an option that addresses the problem. It is evident in this instance that the Board is being told to restructure, and they now have to find a plan for a problem that does not exist.
Shareholders need to arrest this before it escalates into a bigger problem that reduces their returns.
