The Fiji Military forces says any officer wanting to stand for elections will have to resign.
The comment follows a statement by Krishna Datt that he has no problems if individuals in the military turn to civilian life and contest elections.
Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga says this has always been the norm, and nothing has changed.
That is a normal government process inclusive of all PSC members, we are no different to any PSCmembers, it has happened in the past, if people want to stand for elections they of course will have to relinquish their status in the government, they have to resign from the PSC.
Tikoitoga says military officers are also aware of this.
