“We want to be friends with everybody based on respect and respect based on sovereignty” says the AG while the Prime Minister tours the world begging for money.
We want respect based on sovereignty: AG
The Fiji government will be open to dialogue to its neighbours New Zealand and Australia.
Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum says there is a need to have an open mind when dealing with issues regarding Fiji and its future.
“Australia and New Zealand like McCully said is part of the Pacific Region. A lot of Fijians now live in both countries. Our boys play their rugby there. So there will always be a link between the two countries. Most of our tourists come from there. We want to be friends with everybody and the Political stance taken by both countries against that will not change this. We want to be friends with everybody based on respect and respect based on sovereignty.”
