Each year in Fiji the number of people who take their own lives is higher than the road death toll.
Last year, Fiji recorded 48 suicides while the road death toll was 45.
So far this year there have been 15 suicides and 11 attempted suicides, with 6 road deaths recorded.
Psychologist – Selina Kuruleca says greater openness can help address this issue.
_”No one needs to die unnecessarily; no one needs to die through suicide. Too often a lot young people think that they are alone; you don’t need to be alone. You don’t have to be alone because your local hospitals and hospitals has had training in suicide prevention.”
Kuruleca is urging the public to help those people with suicidal tendencies to reduce the alarming number of suicide cases in Fiji.
Yes, but it is never the right people who take their own lives… why aren’t more people in the regime stringing themselves up before the mob get them…i’ll be there? I’ll bring the sandwiches and picnic blanket.

It would impossible for drugged out junkies to even contemplate such acts because they are to busy getting high but than again considering their mental in-capacities or weakness there’s that likelihood.
Marriage failures would be direct towards Indians and Fijians because in their genetic make up to be promiscuous.
What else is there for people of weak minds commit sideways?
In a state of depression and hopelessness people see no future in their lives in Fiji as things get worse by the day. These deaths should to attributed to the government of the day as the government is responsible for providing for its people. Taking of ones own life is not the right thing to do anyway as there could well be hope if one looks beyond the enclosure one puts oneself in. Government, NGOs, leaders and civil societygroups should educate people against suicide.
Thats almost two a week.
