A reader has a question….

What’s the difference between the Yellow Ribbon Project and the Reconciliation, Tolerance, and Unity Bill?

They both try to send criminals back into the society.

  1. The Yellow Ribbon Project was Frank’s ploy to get a pack of his finest murderers and criminals out of Prison.

The Reconciliation, Tolerance, and Unity Bill was an elected government’s attempt to deal with calls for leniency for Speight and his cretins – not the best of ideas.

Ironically, as I think the reader points out, Frank used the Reconciliation, Tolerance, and Unity Bill as an example of the corruption cleanup that he wanted to do – but then he did it himself with the Yellow Ribbon Project.

The question ought to be one which distinguish’s between blue ribbon and yellow ribbon.

It can be construed as such where the blue ribbon project was initiated by a brain child of a morally bankrupt and despicable government .

While the yellow ribbon project is one that is construed by the people’s government for the betterment of those who society have deemed as unworthy.

The yellow project is seen the world over as giving those who are incarcerated to have the same opportunity to be productive citizens as oppose to the blue ribbon project where the intention is to encourage those demented miscreants a free get out of jail pass.

Stop calling the Honorable Kean a murderer. He whacked a Whippy, ok, but how many of us want to do exactly this? Moreover, the Hon Kean is a good friend of our beloved PM. And everybody knows how principled the PM is if it comes to legal matters: “For my friends anything – for my enemies – the law”

lako mada mo lei sili vakavinaka o sa boi dada mai na yagomu vataki na gusumu.

  8. Sai. Don’t get so upset.

Trying to draw some sort of positive inference from Frank’s moronic ploy to free his men from justice is simply to big a bow to draw – it just looks weak, and as Waqa said, pathetic.

How is Kean any different from Speight? Both criminals, both murderers. But you would paint the blind truth as some sort of ‘message’. You ARE pathetic.

    Radio Otiose.

Your visceral comment would leave a blind man laughing for this reason, when one cut to the chase one would at first sight observe you inadequacies in so far as to draw some sort of logical conclusion.

There is no comparison between what Qarase’s government proposed is so far as the blue ribbon project is concerned as opposed to the yellow ribbon project because the latter is designed to rehabilitate prisoners back into society and infact educate them to be productive.

Whereas the former was concocted purely to set free morally reprehensible and in most cases bankrupt individuals from their incarceration, now when one looks back into the past one would see the reason for Qarase’s weaknesses.

Now if you had the choice between the yellow and the blue ribbon project which would you choose?

    Which is far more productive?

Was the yellow ribbon project designed to free the likes of that Kean fellow?

The answer to the above is definitely not, because the purpose of the yellow is allow inmates a second chance at redeeming themselves as oppose to Qarase’s pathetic attempt at the blue ribbon project.

Ok brain trust – so why is Kean free and in the regime? What happened to the ‘design’?!??

Blue or yellow – still both smell the same Sai.
