    A Fijian View Of America

A country that can no longer sustain its economy that it has to invade sovereign mineral rich nations and steal their resources signing dubious agreements with corrupt leaders of their own choosing, in order to prop up its economy. Some countries that have been stolen off their resources are Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, and countless others who are manipulated, bribed, or just plain threatened with military power.

The last country in the world that should label anyone or any nation with intoxicated with power is America. Joel Brinkley would be better off write something about America’s intoxication with power, lies and deceits and its corporations intoxication with money that it buys off their senators, congressmen and women into passing only policies that favour their agendas the world over.

A Fijian view of leon the roti boy
leon is just another indo-fijian trying to pass himslef of as a Fijian. If he was a Fijian he would be supporting US and our Fijian boys in Iraq. Real Fijians support the US and their allies against the terrorist taliban in Afghanistan, Iraq and elswhere. Best of luck in removing taliban terrorists from wherever they emerge in the world, including Fiji.

Cruise liner fails to boost city sales
    Reports By Mary Rauto
    Friday, July 23, 2010

A tourist and her son bargains with a handicraft vendor along Stinson Parade in Suva
VENDORS out to make a buck or two from passengers on board the Pacific Sun cruise liner were disappointed at the low sales.

Natasha Singh, who travelled all the way from Sigatoka on Wednesday morning said business was very bad.

“Tourists are not buying,” Ms Singh said.

Late last year, she said business in Suva was livelier, which was why she chose to sell in the Capital arrivals of cruise liners.

Ms Singh and a group of other women normally pitched in to hire a van from the Coral Coast in the early hours of the morning to sell their products to tourists in Suva.

“While the weather is lovely, we are not selling anything today,” she said.

Another vendor Lela shared similar sentiments saying most of the tourists only looked at the items and moved on other vendors.

“I think they’ve done their shopping on other islands,” she said.

Shirley Dass said while she was new to the business, things were not going her way.

“I’ve been doing this for only a year now,” Ms Dass said.

“Business was better last year and even at the beginning of this year. Today has been really bad…I’ve hardly made a sale,” she said.”

Pacific Sun passenger Yvette Black said she would shop at Port Vila.

“We’ve been told that things are much cheaper there,” she said.

    @ ex Tourist

Who cares? Let the tourist shop in Vanuatu. The Fiji Times is well known for writing these kinds of negative selective articles. As if its the end of the world.

    leon the green goon

Didn’t I tell you this back a few posts ago.

yet you chose [ or was ordered ] to ignore my comments and type beck some silly comment off topic.

You see, leon the green goon, the ships that visit Suva only call there for some place to fill in their schedule of days on the cruise. Who cares where they stop as long as the party on board goes non stop.

The ship owners are the ones making the money; not the people of Fiji.

This is because passengers do NOT wish to leave the ship in Suva because they know it is unsafe, dirty and under irrational military control.

They also know that the best duty free shopping is in Vila.

So whilst the ships stop in Suva, they do not do much to enhance sales for the shops and stall vendors.

Maybe hairyarse could issue a decree that all passengers will be dragged off each cruise ship and made to spend $500.

green goon, please go back and read v e r y s l o wl y my comments about the illegal immoral ignorant junta fudging the figures on tourist numbers.

Good riddance. Please don’t come back to Fiji. You are not needed here anyway.

Were you walking around near the wharf when these tourists were looking at what the vendors were selling or you just form your opinion by reading what the Fiji Times wrote? I am one who was walking around that area talking to the tourists finding out what they really want to buy. The disinformation from your kind is mind boggling. Your hairyarse is so exposed.

    poor silly green goon

You do not seem to comprehend simple messages.

    Please go and get a 5 year old to read my earlier posting and the explain it to you [ v e r y s l o w l y ] in words of one syllable [ or less ] .

I know that you will be jittery after lurking around the wharf looking to mug some tourist but were upset when not many came off the Pacific Sun.

You see , my silly green goon, I find out what is happening in Suva from people on the ships. Some of them are Fijians who despise you and your overweight grunts for creating chaos in their beloved Fiji.

Perhaps we should refrain from trying to talk to people that are intellectually challenged. It would appear to be a waste of resources.

Lets get back to the article in the San Francisco Chronicle. To me, this is a clear sign that the Fijian Dictator and his actions get more and more noticed internationally. In the next weeks articles will appear in European media as well and the pressure on the junta will yet increase. And then there is WikiLeak. We should all try and get our hands on interesting documents that we could post there.
